IMAM MALIK SPEAKS TO YOUTH AT MDQ

Imam Abdul Malik is an American Muslim youth and a motivational speaker . He is greatly inspired by the thought of late MALCOM X.
He will conduct following program on July 28-30 at the MDQ The theme of his series of presentations is “ Our youth –Our future”:

Saturday, July 24 after salat al Fajr he will talk on the topic “An ideal Muslim in the light of the Quran” Breakfast will be served for halaqa attendees

Altaf Husain is a native of Cleveland, Ohio, and a double alumnus of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, having earned his B.S. in biomedical engineering and his M.S. in Social Work. He received his Ph.D. in Social Work from Howard University in Washington, D.C. Dr. Husain's research interests include the integration of immigrant and refugee families, and especially Muslim adolescents, in the United States. He is a former two-term national president of the Muslim Students Association (MSA National); a former executive committee member of the Muslim Alliance in North America (MANA); a faculty member of COMPASS - the state of the art management training program of MSA National; a board member and chair of the Leadership Development Committee of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and a board member of the Peaceful Families Project - dedicated to the prevention of domestic violence.

BR. RIYAD SHAMMA AND DR.ALTAF HUSAIN PARTICIPATE IN YOUTH PROGRAMS AT MDQ

Two prominent youth speakers of the Muslim youth are visiting MDQ Bay shore to speak to the Muslim youth. They are Br.Riyad Shamma and Dr. Altaf Husain.Their programs and brief introduction is as following:
Riyad Shamma was born in Cincinnati and has long been an active member of the community. He has a BA and MS in Industrial Engineering and is completing his PhD in Nonprofit Management. Riyad has been active in youth work for over 20 years with the Muslim Youth of North America and Muslim Student Association.
 He serves as a part time Imam in the local Cincinnati Muslim community, including prison ministry and hospital chaplaincy, for the last 12 years.
 He has spoken nationally and at several universities.
 He is the founder and currently serving as Executive Director of the Institute of Youth Development and Excellence, which works with youth on improving and perfecting character.

JUMUAH KHATEEBS OF JULY 2010

Two very outstanding Jumuah Khateebs are visiting the MDQ in connection with the Summer Camp afoot at MDQ with 70 kids and Muslim youth. Dr. Altaf Husain former MSA National President and member Majlis al Shoora of ISNA will deliver Jumuah Khutbah on July 23. Imam Abdul Malik, a well known khateeb and youth's speaker will also give Khutbah of Jumuah on July 30. Here is the schedule of Jumuah speakers:

Summer Camp 2010

The MDQ Summer Camp 2010 will be held between July 1, 2010 - July 31, 2010 between 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. The camp will be open to anyone between 5 - 20 years of age. Parents must bring birth certificates for children under 6 at the time of registration. Fee for Summer Camp is $200.00 per child.

SUMMER CAMP 2011

Summer Camp of Masjid Darul Quran will start, insha Allah, on July 01 and will conclude on July 29. The Registration for the Camp 2011 has been started already. Registration forms are available in Masjid(outside tables). The camp will be held for youth of 5 to 15 years of age. It will be held from Monday through Friday from 9:30am to 1:00pm at the MDQ. Activities of Camp are wide ranging from memorization of Salah, everyday duas, short Surahs, lessons on Seerah, Akhlaaq(Islamic manners), ibadaat, living in North America as Muslims, videos on Islamic History and the Muslim Ummah. Fee for the camp is $200.00 which includes lunch, weekly trips, arts & crafts AND much more.

NAUMAN ALI KHAN AT THE MDQ

Br.Nauman Ali Khan of Bayyinah Institute will deliver khutbah of Jumuah on May 28,2010.The theme of the khutbah is " empowering our youth".Br. Nauman will also speak about " Life and contribution of Dr. Israr Ahmad in spreading message of the QURAN" on Thursday, May 27 after salat al Isha.
